The passive: present simple

The present simple passive is formed with the present tense of the verb
to be and the past participle of the main verb

We use the passive when we are more interested in the action or process
than the person or thing that causes it.

ex: Are the animals treated well?
     (It´s not important who treats them well)

      Where is the sugar kept?

      Paper is made of wood.

     These gates are locked at night
